The Library Network Coordination department is a department of the University Library Basel. The department looks after the specialist, departmental and faculty libraries of the University of Basel as well as the University Library Rosental (from February 2020 also the University Religion Library) and the other libraries affiliated to the Basel network, such as those of  hospitals, museums, some cantonal libraries, private institutions, universities of applied sciences and the Zentralbibliothek Solothurn. See also Libraries in the Basel network.

The connecting element - virtually the heart – is the shared library management system Aleph 500, with all the functionality for managing library collections. Via the swissbib Basel Bern catalogue, or when searching for old prints, music and maps, the classic catalogue of the Information Network Basel Bern, all media can be searched for and are available for use by researchers, students and the wider public.
