Support us with our vision “We connect people and knowledge”!
The University Library Basel is the most important public information centre and therefore the central meeting point for science and society in the region. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the knowledge of the past and to promoting the ideas of the future. Thanks to your contribution, we can continually develop our services qualitatively and innovatively. This makes us an indispensable partner in the areas of research, teaching and cultural heritage.
If you would like to support us in one of our areas of action (digitisation, support for research and teaching, as well as optimisation of customer-relevant interfaces) we would welcome your donation.
With an open donation, you support the University Library with providing its wide range of services. In each case, we use your donation wherever it is most needed.
Your donation to the University Library Basel is tax deductible. We will issue you with a donation confirmation.

Legacies & inheritances
With a legacy donation you support the University Library and therefore also the researchers and teachers of the University of Basel in the long term and beyond your lifetime. By writing a will, you can determine whom, aside from family members, you would like to benefit. In so doing, you can provide us with a legacy or an inheritance.
Normally we receive legacies which we can freely use for our diverse range of activities (media acquisition, indexing, digitisation and development of new services). You may however request that your donation be tied to specific conditions, for example if you would like to support specific services for researchers in a subject area.
Do you wish to receive further details about our work, our institution or the administering of your legacy? You can contact us confidentially at any time. For further information or for a personal discussion, we are available by phone on ✆ +41 (0)61 207 06 83 or by email.
