Initially no contract with Elsevier from 1.1.2024
Update on the negotiations with Elsevier.
We would like to provide a brief update on the negotiations with Elsevier. The negotiations between swissuniversities and Elsevier on the Read&Publish agreements from 2024 onwards have not yet reached a satisfactory conclusion. This means that there is no contract at the beginning of the year and the costs for open access publications from 1.1.2024 onwards are initially not covered by the university agreements.
Articles submitted by 31.12.2023 can still be published under the current contract with the "Gold Open Access" option. For articles submitted from 1.1.2024, authors of the university should not choose the "Gold Open Access" option until further notice, as the university will not cover these fees from central funds.
Please use the institutional Open Access repository edoc to make your Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM) Open Access available (Green Open Access).
